YRA Autumn Meeting
Congratulations to Dave Ball of Leeds, winner of the Yorkshire Championship for the first time. At the Autumn Open David and Stuart Young made it a one-two with David a superb 150.26 winning the Gleadow at 500yds and Autumn Aggregate. Dave Ball won the Centenary at 200yds. Manchester RC won the team cup and Barry Nesom won the Ray Addy tankard. Full results now uploaded.

Roses Match
Yorkshire won the 2017 Roses Match against County of Lancaster at Brockholes. Full results will be uploaded soon.

GB Team to Canada 2018
Joining John Warburton Captain and John Stevens Vice-Captain, Lauren Crowson will be travelling. Ian Davison is a non-travelling reserve.


The Yorkshire Autumn Open Meeting will be at Brockholes on Sat 30th September. Entry forms are available now from the link above.

The Roses Match will be held at Brockholes on Sat 16th September.

The Bingham Shield is at Brockholes on Sat 14th October.


Imperial Meeting
At Bisley the county team benefitted from a boost of new young shooters from Sedbergh School, and finished 8th in the long range and a fantastic 3rd place at short range.

Best individual performances were from John Warburton: Queen's final, 3rd in St. Georges, England team for Mackinnon, winner of Admiral Hutton; Lauren Crowson: 14th in Grand, 12th in St. Georges and Queen's final, England team for National, winner of Daily Telegraph; and Mike Wood: winner of the Corporation at 1000yds after a tie shoot.


The Yorkshire team assembled at Bisley for the annual Inter-counties matches. Weather was very hot and sunny and conditions were mainly light but fickle breezes. The team finished 15th in the short and 12th in the long, with Ian Davison top scoring for the team overall. Full results now uploaded.

KGV Heat
The northern heat for the King George V Cup was held at Deer Hill on a great day, sunny and cloudy, a little breezy but perfect shooting conditions. Northumbria won with Lancashire 2nd, Yorkshire 3rd and Cheshire 4th. Full results now uploaded.

The next matches will be the Inter-Counties at Bisley on 17-18 June.


The next matches will be the individual English XX Meeting at Bisley 27-29th May, and then the northern heat for the King George V Cup at Deer Hill on 3rd June.

YRA Spring Open
At a showery Brockholes Lauren Crowson won the Coronation with a fine 75.13, the George Dean and the Yorkshire XX for the aggregate. David Morris won the Goodrick. Some random people drove over the Pennines from across the border and borrowed the Chairman's Tankard. Richard Hirst goes through to the Champion of Champions final at Bisley. Full results now uploaded.

2017 Astor Heat
Leeds Service RC won the Astor heat at Brockholes and will go on to represent Yorkshire clubs in the final at Bisley in July. Teams shot 2&10 at 200yds and 2&11 at 500yds to make the total up to 105. Leeds shot creditably with 3 scores of 104s, 2 scores of 103s and 1 score of 99. Sheffield came home in 2nd 10 points behind, and Huddersfield came 3rd and 4th with their A and B teams.

The Yorkshire RA Spring Open will be held at Brockholes on Sat 20th May.


GBRT to Canada 2018
John Warburton has been appointed Captain of the Great Britain Rifle Team to Canada in 2018, with John Stevens the team's Vice-Captain. The team will compete in the Ontario RA championships and then the 150th Dominion of Canada RA meeting. Anyone wishing to be selected for the team should contact John before the end of July.

The Purples Match was held at Bisley on St George's Day Sun 23rd April. Yorkshire turned out with a fairly strong team and finished 4th in a field of 10 teams. Some solid performances and some areas to develop. Charlie Cowen from Sedbergh School made 146 and John Warburton and Richard Hirst both made 149s.
